Traditional Kathak Technique for the Modern Bollywood Choreographer (Ages 15+) 

With over 20 years of in-depth study of Kathak (North Indian Classical Dance) with the legendary Pandit Chitresh Das, Bhardwaj has toured extensively throughout the US and India, both as a soloist, and as a member of the internationally renowned Chitresh Das Dance Company. She has had the honor of dancing at Kathak Kendra, the National Institute of Kathak Dance, and her one-woman show "Tale of a Kathaka" took first prize at the Maui Theater Fringe Festival 2014; her solo at the Naari Festival In Kolkata was televised throughout India on the Doordarshan network. In addition, Antara has had a prolific career as a filmmaker, having worked on films such as "Provoked" (Aishwarya Rai, Nadita Das), "Shoot On Sight," (Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri), and her directorial venture "Telling Lies (Mel B.) and is the founder of Hindipendent Films, which produced award-winning documentary "Upaj: Improvie" on the unique collaborative work between Kathak (Pandit Chitresh Das) and Tap (Jason Samuels Smith) 

This October, she launches her exclusive workshop - Kathak for Bollywood - for dancers around the SF Bay Area! This unique program is meant to provide dancers with all the fundamental techniques of Kathak needed to choreograph and properly execute Bollywood pieces with a classical flair.
